FOIA Request to Miracosta College regarding recent course syllabi on August 6, 2025.

A request has been submitted to Miracosta College under the California Public Records Act for access to the course syllabi of all undergraduate and graduate courses offered during the Spring 2025 semester. The request, sent by North Coast California News, seeks comprehensive information across all departments, schools, and colleges within the institution. This includes courses delivered in-person, online, or through hybrid formats.

The requested records should include specific metadata such as the course title and number, instructor name, department or academic unit, and course delivery format. The request emphasizes the importance of these records for media professionals in fulfilling their role of holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency.

North Coast California News has indicated that they are eligible for a fee waiver due to their status as a media organization. Additionally, they are affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to investigating governmental agencies using Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws.

We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format as it will greatly aid in our reporting efforts. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
