Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., who represents California’s 25th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on community engagement and public health through a series of posts on August 6, 2025.
In one post from the early morning hours, Ruiz highlighted his participation in a local safety event: “I spent tonight connecting with families and first responders for this year’s Hemet National Night Out! It was amazing celebrating the individuals in our region that work tirelessly to keep our neighborhoods safe. Thank you to @HemetPolice911 and the @hemetgov for putting on a” (August 6, 2025).
Later that day, Ruiz addressed economic concerns facing constituents: “I care about you and your family. If you’ve recently lost a job, you’re not alone. Join me and the @ImperialCntyCA for a Job Fair this Friday, Aug. 8 at the Imperial Valley Mall. Employers are hiring, and resources are here to help you get back on your feet. RSVP:” (August 6, 2025).
That evening, he commented on national health policy regarding vaccine funding: “The science is clear: mRNA vaccines saved millions of lives. Cutting $500 million in funding endangers our health, weakens our security, and abandons the very innovation that helped us through the COVID-19 pandemic.” (August 6, 2025).
Ruiz has served as California’s representative since replacing Mary Bono in Congress in 2013 and currently resides in Indio after being born in Zacatecas City, Mexico in 1972. He holds degrees from both UCLA and Harvard University.
