Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., currently representing California’s 25th district in the U.S. Congress, announced and hosted a series of events titled Veterans University aimed at providing resources and support for veterans, service members, and their families.

On December 5, 2025, Ruiz posted on his social media account: “Veterans University is almost here! Join me to learn about the benefits and other important resources for veterans, service members, and their families.

Following the first event in Indio on December 6, Ruiz updated his followers: “Veterans University in Indio just wrapped! Another one in Brawley to go! It was an incredible day spent learning and connecting with resources for veterans and their families.

Later that same day, he reiterated the purpose of the annual event: “My annual event, Veterans University is about bringing the community together and working to get veterans what they need, deserve, and earned. Ruiz has represented California’s 25th District since 2013 after succeeding Mary Bono. He was born in Zacatecas City, Mexico in 1972 and now resides in Indio. His educational background includes degrees from UCLA (BS) and Harvard University.
