Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., currently representing California’s 25th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted several community initiatives and legislative milestones through a series of posts on his social media account.
On August 8, 2025, Ruiz posted about his involvement in a local employment initiative: “Today, I co-hosted a Job and Resource Fair with @ImperialCntyCA at the Imperial Valley Mall amid the closure of the Spreckels Sugar Factory. It’s important to me to help the people of Imperial Valley get connected with opportunities and organizations that can help them find work”.

If you are in need of passport services, come visit us in Mecca, CA this Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 11:00am – 4:00pm. We are eager to help you. Raul Ruiz has been serving as a member of Congress since replacing Mary Bono in 2013. He represents California’s diverse and expansive 25th congressional district and is known for his background both as a physician and legislator. Born in Zacatecas City, Mexico in 1972 and now residing in Indio at age 50, Ruiz attended UCLA for his undergraduate studies before earning further degrees from Harvard University.
The recent job fair comes after the closure of the Spreckels Sugar Factory—an event that affected employment opportunities locally—while other outreach efforts such as passport fairs reflect ongoing constituent services offered by Ruiz’s office. The commemoration of the PACT Act underscores his focus on veterans’ healthcare policy.
