Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., who represents California’s 25th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on his community engagement and policy concerns through a series of posts on social media.

On August 22, 2025, Ruiz described an encounter at a local library: “While I was in Hemet, I ran into Kathy from the Hemet Public Library. We chatted about the resources available to the community from books to learning programs. Stop by the Hemet Public Library if you haven’t already!”

The following day, on August 23, 2025, Ruiz highlighted issues facing food banks: “At Project FoodBox in Brawley, I spoke with Sarah, from the Imperial Valley Food Bank, about how the Big Ugly Law threatens critical funding for food banks. Our most vulnerable populations will go hungry and food banks will be stretched beyond their limits. I remain committed to”

On August 24, 2025, he addressed national policy concerns: “Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are promises and essential for tens of millions of Americans. But President Trump and Congressional Republicans have passed their Big Ugly Law, with no sign of lower costs for the people. Their agenda is simple: put the billionaires first,”
