Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., currently representing California’s 25th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of critical tweets on February 25, 2026, addressing former President Donald Trump’s statements and actions during and after his presidency.
In a post at 03:13 UTC, Ruiz wrote: “Criminal Trump continues his Big Lie about not losing to Biden and claiming massive cheating to justify making it harder for working people to vote and the Republican sheep in Congress know he’s lying but stood and cheered anyway. Despicable. #SOTU”.
Shortly after, at 03:15 UTC, Ruiz addressed Trump directly regarding immigration policies: “Trump, YOU suffer from dementia or selective memory. YOU actually tore children from their families arms as part of your cruel immigration policy. #SOTU”.
At 03:21 UTC the same day, Ruiz condemned political violence and referenced the events of January 6th: “I condemn all forms of political violence include yours Trump! I condemn the Jan 6th insurrection you directed and the threats you make. #SOTU”.
Ruiz has represented California’s 25th district since replacing Mary Bono in 2013. He was born in Zacatecas City, Mexico in 1972 and currently resides in Indio. His academic background includes degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles (BS) and Harvard University.
