Congressman Raul Ruiz, currently representing California’s 25th District, expressed his concerns and evaluations through a series of tweets, touching on significant public health and national security issues. These posts reflect his position on critical government decisions amidst public health challenges and security concerns.

On March 27, 2025, Congressman Ruiz criticized what he believes to be a misguided decision regarding public health staffing. “Eliminating 25% of the @HHSGov public health workforce during a rapidly expanding measles outbreak and a bird flu outbreak on the heels of the deadly COVID pandemic is dumb and dangerous!” He called out RFK Jr. for the decision, urging the use of common sense.

In another post from March 28, 2025, Ruiz addressed a policy consideration by President Trump related to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “President Trump is considering eliminating the @CDCgov’s Division of HIV Prevention. Hell no! The prevalence of HIV in the Coachella Valley is 4x the national average.” Ruiz emphasized the importance of education, outreach, testing, and treatment in preventing HIV transmission, a message backed by DAP Health’s stance.

Later the same day, Congressman Ruiz turned his attention to a matter involving national security breaches. “Military attack launch times, equipment, and weapons to be used in an imminent military action are by definition CLASSIFIED information!” He condemned the sharing of such sensitive information on unsecured platforms like the Signal app, labeling it a reckless breach affecting national security.
