On March 27, 2025, Congressman Ruiz criticized what he believes to be a misguided decision regarding public health staffing. “Eliminating 25% of the @HHSGov public health workforce during a rapidly expanding measles outbreak and a bird flu outbreak on the heels of the deadly COVID pandemic is dumb and dangerous!” He called out RFK Jr. for the decision, urging the use of common sense.
In another post from March 28, 2025, Ruiz addressed a policy consideration by President Trump related to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “President Trump is considering eliminating the @CDCgov’s Division of HIV Prevention. Hell no!
